Our story

Twenty years of Trinidad, made by hand

Singh's Roti Shop was started by Ricky and Kay Boodoosingh, who came to Boston from Trinidad and Tobago and wanted to bring a taste of home to their community. They opened their first doors about thirty years ago on Columbia Road in Dorchester.

It is still a family shop. Ricky and Kay run it alongside their children, Dillian and Brianna, now from a larger spot just up the road in Dorchester and a second location steps from Revere Beach. Everything is handmade to order, the way it always has been.

A two-time Best of Boston winner, named Best Caribbean Restaurant and, a decade later, Dorchester's Best Neighborhood Restaurant by Boston Magazine.

I have been a loyal customer at Singh's Roti shop for years. The reasons I keep coming back are simple. 1: The food is phenomenal, literally, imo, the best, absolutely authentic Trini food in the Boston area. I have never had a bad meal here, and the variety is fantastic. On top of that, it is consistently quality. Ricki cooks with pride in his work and it absolutely shows. 2: Mr. Singh's hospitality, respect and care for his customers, and love for his food makes every visit a delight. When you walk into his restaurant, you are family.

Stopped in to see if they knew where i could find a shot glass left with a full stomach and more food. If you like food with flavor and some spice or even alot of spice like I do, this place is a must. Awesome people, very friendly and super generous on portions and price. Very satisfied. Looked for food like this the whole week iv been here and thankfully right before I left I found them. I wish I could post a picture.

if you're brave enough to ask for hot sauce, brace yourself! It's the real deal. If you're from the Caribbean, it's like a taste of home. But if you're not used to Scotch Bonnet peppers, take it easy. Trust me, you'll end up loving their hot sauce, but maybe start slow!

The food was fresh and delicious! I had a veggie roti that was soft, warm, with the right amount of chickpeas, potatoes and pumpkin. My daughters got messy and tasty doubles. It's too bad I don't live closer or I would be here every day. 😋

Yummm! I’ve been coming to Singh’s since I was a little girl, and now I’m bringing my son. The owners are always sweet as sugar cane, and provide an authentic Trini atmosphere . Not only is their food delicious, but you can buy spices, flags, sauces and more! You must eat their doubles, roti and bake n shark! My son loves the stew chicken with rice . Many vegan options as well! Pictured is my shrimp roti🤤🇹🇹❤️
